Not Confused
Not confused.
In two unrelated podcast I happen to listen to yesterday, both times those words were used and I instantly felt a connection. "Not confused" deeply resonated with me. With all that is taking place in our world and personal lives - I am still confident and certain of this, God is not confused. And because God is not confused, I too do not have to be confused. I am not confused.
With or without a global pandemic, navigating every day life can be challenging in and of itself. There are so many unknowns. This is all the more true for those who are facing transitions, changes and uncertainty in the areas of job, family, health and relationships. Politics is confusing. The news and media is distorted. The world seems to be upside in it's thinking and practice. It's hard not to feel confused at times. So for those who feel lost or disoriented, take heart. God knew we would have these moments and so he gave us his written word to remind us of truth. In 2 Timothy 1:7 we are reminded, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment." So regardless of how we feel, this is who we are in Christ. While we may feel unsteady at times or that our footing is slipping, remember we have God's spirit at work in us. Draw from his power to overcome.
Today, I am reminded and thankful that God is firm. He is not confused. So let's continue to do the next brave thing - put one foot in front of the other. We will deliberately keep our heart turned towards him and our thoughts rooted in his Word. And surely slowly by slowly the cloud will lift and the dust will settle.
Dig deep and don't miss what the Lord is saying and doing in this time. God is with us. He is for us. We do not have to be confused.
